Early 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, traditional terraced house. Stucco lined-out as ashlar. Base course. Raised cills.
NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: bays grouped to left. Step up to panelled timber door to centre bay at ground, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration to 1st floor.
4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates with 2 small modern rooflights. Coped stuccoed stacks with cans. Ashlar-coped skews with block skewputts.
Castle Street was formerly the main road from Stonehaven leading to Dunnottar Castle. The few remaining houses lining the east side (all those to the west have gone) of what would have been a major thoroughfare are rare survivors of a once prolific type.
