Mid 18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay at ground, terraced house with Victorian gablet hood to door. Lined stucco. Base course.
NW ELEVATION: part-glazed timber door to centre at ground, windows in flanking bays at each floor, those to 1st floor abutting eaves. Blank bay of lean-to at outer left.
NE ELEVATION: steeply pitched gabled elevation with 2 windows to lean-to outshot at ground.
2-pane upper sash and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates and 2 small traditional rooflights. Coped whitewashed stack with thackstane and cans. Ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts.
Castle Street was formerly the main road out of Stonehaven leading to Dunnottar Castle. The few remaining houses lining the east side (all those to the west have gone) of what would have been a major thoroughfare are rare survivors of a once prolific type.
