Statement of Interest

Originally this property was divided into two: 15 West Terrace was the house of the proprietor and 1 Brewery Close was a tenement of 4 flats rented by the owner. A local resident recalls living in the tenement during the First World War but by 1940 it had been converted into a large lodging house. Although the address of the tenement, 1 Brewery Close, is now redundant the door has been retained with its number.
