Description

Earlier 19th century; later alterations. 3-storey, basement and attic, 3-bay dwelling house; ground floor windows and basement windows share cills and lintels. Squared and snecked rubble; ashlar margins; painted at rear.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central door with 4-light fanlight; regular fenestration; central piended dormer.

E ELEVATION: blind gable wall; blocked 2nd floor window.

S ELEVATION: central piended stair tower; regular fenestration.

W ELEVATION: adjoining building

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; straight stone skews; short rubble and ashlar stacks at gableheads.

INTERIOR: not seen 2000.

GARDEN WALL: rubble garden wall; 2 doors; ashlar dressings.

Statement of Interest

This house benefited from the National Trust's Little Houses Improvement Scheme. A timber door in the wall beneath the terrace may still lead to the house's cellars.
