Description

1909. West Gatehouse for Anchor Mills. Red brick with ashlar dressings. 3 x 4 bay, 2-storey rectangular building forming gushet with flanking cast-iron gate-piers, gates with Anchor escutcheons and railings. 2-storeys with corniced ground floor windows, arched, keystoned 1st floor windows with continuous hood mould. Pedimented clock over wallhead on narrow main entrance elevation. 1st floor cornice and main cornice. Broken pedimented panel at frieze level to courtyard elevation.
