Description

Engineer to Dundee and Arbroath Joint Railway, 1905.

Cast-iron and steel footbridge with timber deck and concrete ramps.

Irregular elliptical arch supported by 2 pairs of cast-iron Doric columns and intrados with quatrefoil tracery; steel lattice parapet with oversailing loop braces.

Statement of Interest

Constructed to provide a pedestrian crossing as an alternative to the pre-existing level crossing access to Albert Works. Cost shared equally by Monifieth Burgh and the Dundee and Arbroath Joint Railway.
