Description

Later 19th century villa, now a hotel, with "Thomsonesque"
Greek revival ornament to both interior and exterior. 2
storeys, 3 bays, further full-height canted bays turn
corners. Red ashlar with unmargined openings, incised
ornament to window heads, 1st floor windows with pilasters
rising out of jambs. Central porch with pilasterd doorway,
curved side walls, carved lions flank bands between floors.
Main roof piended and platformed (slated and leaded) with
decorative cast-iron to platform; stacks with incised
ornament; facetted roofs to canted bays integrated with
main roof and with eagle finials. Rear wings; modern
addition to S flank. Interior has neo-Egyptian doorcases
and cornice plasterwork with discs, elongated egg-and-dart
detail.
Set behind low boundary wall, piers with incised ornament.
