Late 18th century with 19th century alterations. 2-storey with attic, 3-bay house with chimney gablet. Dry-dash with painted margins.
S (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Panelled timber door to centre with windows in flanking bays and regular windows to 1st floor, smaller window to centre above in chimney gablet and flanking 19th century rooflights. Wallhead raised in 19th century.
N ELEVATION: variety of elements including projecting round stair tower to centre, piended dormer window to right and low 2-storey extension to outer right.
4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Ashlar coped skews and coped harled stacks with clay cans.
INTERIOR: stone flagged hall with half-turned newel to ground floor, barley-twist cast-iron balusters and timber handrail, and boarded dado. Acanthus cornice to 1st floor room. (See Notes).
Room with acanthus cornice (former drawing room) originally contained "an excellent wooden chimney-piece of about 1790 with finely carved floral motifs and a sailing ship roundel to the frieze, pilasters with acanthus capitals, entwined dolphins and urns" which appears to have been removed without LBC.
