James Pearson Alison, 1897. Large 3-storey 2-bay stugged cream sandstone house above shops; ashlar dressings. At ground betwen 2 shops 9-pane door and fanlight (inscribed Albert House) flanked by slender panelled pilasters, consoled fascia with dentilled cornice spanning ground floor. Shops (3-bay to left, 2-bay to right) with plate glass windows on base course; moulded frames; deep-set glazed panelled doors with rectangular fanlights. Upper floors with tripartite windows to left, bipartite to right. 1st floor windows with raised margins, chamfered arrises, heavy consoled corncies. 2nd floor windows with moulded architraves and cills; panel between with entwined date 1897. Moulded lintel course and heavy eaves cornice with modillions.
Plate glass timber sash and windows with horns. Rubble gable end walls and broad coped stacks; mostly original circular cans. Grey slates.
