Description

John Hamilton 1884-8. Gothic chruch on corner site with gabled main elevation to Cathcart Road; turning corner into Hampden Drive, 2 stages only of incomplete tower fronts side aisle, balanced by pinnacled low projection to left of main gable, opposite. Stugged and snecked ashlar, polished dressings. Front has triple-gables at ground (central porch, windows flanking), large geometric window above, its cill course continued on other elevations, stepped as hood-moulds over traceried aisle windows in buttressed flanks, (s) flank to Hampden Drive has large transept near tower, flush with aisle wall, and containing gallery level geometric-traceried window; tower stages with angle buttresses, door to Hampden Drive; slate roofs, main roof swept over aisles. Enclosed by decorative cast-rion railings which link with buttresses.
