Dated 1872. Large asymmetrical gabled villa, now a hotel. Snecked rubble with ashlar dressings, all stone-cleaned; deep-eaved slate roofs; single and mullioned windows, mostly plate glass sashes. 2 storeys with attic lit by small, gabled dormers. Main south front has large gabled bay with iron-crested semi-circular window at ground, sculptured tympanum over window above, 1st floor window of 2nd bay alongside cuts through eaves and has gabled head, small dormer set between bays at high level; end stacks with flute friezes; recessed at right is the long flank of a low porch; it has red ridge tiles (suggesting that the main house may have once been similarly treated), and, flanking the entrance, squat granite columns with foliated caps. Steel fire escape is behind, but reaches on to roof. Modern additions to west and to north.
Rubble-built boundary wall, outset at intervals to enclose trees.
