Description

D MacNaughtan and Son (Alan G MacNaughtan), 1909 (dated). 2-storey school block with renaissance ornament; usually, composition is symmetrical along long axis of plan - and thus with advanced gable at N end of both long walls - though with asymmetrical elevations; narrow entrance bay slightly set forward in each re-entrant angle with wall-head parapet enclosing conical roof; lower 2-bay range at S gable with single storey range adjoining; 3-l;ight windows in advanced gables, and with columned mullions at 1st floor; snecked bull-faced red ashlar; polished dressings; deep-eaved slate roofs; corniced stacks.
