Description

Style of W F MaGibbon, 1880/90. Large 2-storey and
attic villa with baronial details, windows mostly
mullioned and transomed. Stone-cleaned yellow ashlar,
plate glass glazing; bracketted eaves, big piended slate
roofs. 3-bay (N) front, curved window bay right carried
above eaves with parapet, 3-light attic window and
conical roof; pedimented stone dormers; porch recessed
on left (E) flank and with single blocked column, modern
timber range to E apparently re-uses base of former
conservatory; W flank to Albert Road similarly
detailed; lower rear wing includes lantern (presumably)
above billiard room.
Stone-built boundary wall (painted), renaissance
gatepiers at street corner with pyramidal caps.
