Norman Dick of Burnet, Son and Dick, 1935. Symmetrical H-plan
block of 4 storeys; brick built, unusual arrangement of
stretchers and headers to give band courses; concrete band
course over ground.
N ELEVATION: 9-bay with 3-storey boldly advanced terminal
pavilions; inner 7-bay advanced at ground floor. Steps to
semi-circular plan flat-roofed porch; tiled reveals, deeply
recessed glazed double-leaf doors. Door flanked by windows
with curved panes. To each end, tall stair windows with cement architraves and block pediment, modern plate glass. Otherwise
metal framed windows in pairs with swivel-opening lying panes.
Raised concrete corridor to E pavilion on stilts; good
cast-iron gate. S elevation detailed as above.
E AND W ELEVATIONS: 7-bay with advanced taller centre bay, at
ground with doorway.
Symmetrical interior with common rooms to ground, bedrooms
above.
Part of Gartnavel Royal B group.
