Description

Circa 1893. Asymmetrical villa with classical details.

2-storeys; coursed stugged ashlar with polished margins,

stonecleaned. Advanced taller central bay.

To ground, paired Ionic porch with modern balustraded parapet. Tripartite architraved doorpiece with glazed sidelights.

Corniced architraved sash above set in recessed panel of

masonry. Windows single light sashes except to right at 1st

tripartite.

Band course over 1st, deeply overhanging timber-bracketed

eaves. Piended slate roofs, tall corniced axial stacks.

W flank with tall tripartite stair window. Garden front with

an oriel window to ground and 1st floor. Centrally placed

architraved doorpiece with broken segmental pediment.

Terrace to garden with retaining wall of rock-faced ashlar;

opposite door, balustraded parapet.

INTERIOR: good plaster cornice work to galleried hall with

Ionic arcade to 1st floor. Good figurative stained glass to

large stair window.
