Description

Later 18th century. 3-storey and attic, 3-bay. Polished
ashlar ground floor Bank facade (circa 1900) and narrow
entrance to pend. Coursed ashlar 1st, 2nd floors and shaped
gable; polished ashlar dressings. Raised margins and moulded
cills to all windows, the lintels of which are linked by band
courses. 12-pane sashes, 2nd floor windows being shorter than
at 1st floor. Coped pannelled stacks; slate roof.
Small, worn coat of arms (appears to be of Royal Burgh,
Forres) reinstated at rear of building over pend.
INTERIOR: Enriched egg and dart plaster frieze at ground
floor.

Statement of Interest

Formerly North of Scotland and Town and County Bank.

Coat of arms found during reconstruction of Castle Bridge

1908, and built into wall 1909.
