Description

Circa 1840-50. Classical. 3 storeys and attic, 5 bays.
Ashlar, channelled to ground floor; polished ashlar
dressings. 2 3-bay shop fronts and centre flat arched
entrance to pend. Moulded architraves to 1st and 2nd
floor windows, those at 1st floor having alternate
segmental and triangular frieze, cornice and low parapet;
2 canted and 2 flat roofed dormers. 4-pane glazing.
Corniced end and ridge stacks; slate roof.
Wings to rear in close.

Statement of Interest

At rear of close, much overgrown, was small single storey

dwelling with fireplace mantel inscribed THOMAS RUSSEL 1694.
