Earlier 19th century. Tall 2-storey house raised on S
elevation basement, asymmetrical gabled 3 bays. Rubble
with ashlar dressings. Advanced garden front with centre
bay with canted window to basement and ground floor. Square
projecting porch to W with round headed doorway, flanked by semi-octagonal piers rising-through parapet with
semi-circular central crest. Gablet headed window above,
flanked by 2 gabled bays that to S taller and advanced;
that to N fronting East High Street with some altered
fenestration. All windows transomed with lying-pane glazing.
Batteries of tall octagonal stacks; stone gable finials;
slate roof.
High rubble walls with dressed stone copes and gabled
entrances to East High Street.
Entrance also from Lamb Street. Crest shows 18– as date
very worn. House now divided internally. Appears illustrated
on T S Hutchon's 1855 map of Elgin.
