The panel is inscribed with the biblical quotation, "In the Sweat of thy Face, shalt thou eat Bread, Gen.3 Verse 19. Anno Dom 1619" It replicates a panel on one of the baxters' [bakers] buildings on Bell's Brae in the nearby Dean village.
