Description

John Chesser, 1860-69. 2-storey, 39-bay classical terrace of houses, Nos 2-6 form bowed corner, continuous in design with Bellevue Place. Sandstone ashlar with architraved margins. Base course, bracketed cills at ground floor, cill band at 1st floor, eaves cornice parapet and blocking course. Tall, narrow proportions to windows, taller at 1st floor.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: timber panelled doors with fanlights in architraved entrances in bays 3, 4, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 25, 30, 34 and 37; windows to bays remaining, regular fenestration above, bipartite box dormer to No18.

Timber sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing, grey slates, ashlar ridge stacks with terracotta cans, rooflights, cast-iron railings (not continuous).

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped ashlar walls enclosing site.
