Ann Street was built between 1815 and 1825 by Sir Henry Raeburn (1756-1823) famous portrait painter and named after his wife. His architect was James Milne and he probably designed this street. Ann Street is almost unique in Georgian Edinburgh in having front gardens. Today this beautiful street has among the highest house prices in the city.
