Early 19th century with later small addition to SE. Single storey with basement, 3-bay classical house on corner of Straiton Place and Regent Street. Painted polished ashlar to ground, squared rubble interspersed with droved ashlar to basement level; squared sandstone to side elevation (Straiton Place), harled to blank rear elevation. Broad dividing band course, cornice and blocking course; moulded architraves to Regent Street elevation.
W (REGENT STREET) ELEVATION: symmetrical; 4 steps with original plain cast-iron handrails to centre; deep-set panelled door in architraved doorpiece with radial rectangular fanlight above. Windows to flanking bays at each level.
N (STRAITON PLACE) ELEVATION: windows to each bay irregularly disposed. Basement not fully exposed.
12-pane timber sash and case windows to ground floor, 6-pane to basement. Graded slate piended roof; rendered and coped wallhead stacks to side elevations and rear.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1994.
BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: rendered and coped walls with fleur-de-lys headed railings.
B Group with Nos 49 and 51. This building dates from before 1824.
