Description

William Beatson, engineer, 1886. Single span bridge over Water of Leith carrying cobbled road. Bull-faced red sandstone with ashlar voussoirs; brick-lined archivolt; solid ashlar parapet with saddleback coping and distinctive cast-iron railings; decorative lamp standards with anthemium and foliate brackets. Quadrant walls with terminal piers to Bowling Green Street.
