Circa 1865. 2-storey 3-bay rectangular-plan villa with single storey side pavilion to N and lean-to conservatory to S. Cream sandstone, stugged ashlar front with droved ashlar dressings, squared and snecked stugged rubble to rear and sides. Base course; cill band course at 1st floor; eaves cornice; chamfered reveals; rusticated quoins; bracketted cills; ornate cast-iron window guards to 1st floor windows.
W (FRONT) ELEVATION: round-arched and keystoned moulded doorway at centre with consoled cornice, deep-set panelled door, semi-circular plate glass fanlight and tiled vestibule; single window at 1st floor above. Bay to left with bipartite windows to ground and 1st floor. Bay to right with 2-storey canted window with half-piend roof.
N ELEVATION: single storey flat-roofed side pavilion; single window at 1st floor to centre bay; central wallhead stack.
S ELEVATION: large timber lean-to conservatory at ground floor; single window at 1st floor to right; central wallhead stack.
E (REAR) ELEVATION: small single storey projection; tall round-arched and keystoned stair window; 2 canted dormers; modern canted conservatory to side wing.
Timber sash and case windows, plate glass and small-pane glazing and 4-pane windows to front, some small-pane replacement window to canted window. Piend slate roof with metal flashings; 2 wallhead stacks (see above). Moulded eaves gutter.
INTERIOR: timber stair with cast-iron balustrade; ornate cornice to ground floor dining room, tiled fireplace with bolection moulding
timber surround; 1st floor drawing room with later elaborately carved timber Adam-style fireplace.
GATEPIERS, BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: tall rubble wall to rear and S with semi-circular coping, 2 tall coped gatepiers of stugged ashlar, 4 original cast-iron gateposts and turned railings with fleur-de-lis heads.
Formerly No 12 Greenhill Park. Listed Cat. B for the survival of the ornate ironwork.
