Description

Early 19th century, raised later to 2-storey, 3 bay house
adjoining, terrace to right. Squared and snecked
whinstone; stugged ashlar dressings raised and margined
at 1st floor. Rubble sides and rear.
E ELEVATION: to Lauder Place, door at centre with
corniced doorpiece and carved lion. Strip fanlight.
Windows flanking, 3 windows at 1st floor.
2-storey piend roofed, rendered brick extension at rear,
bracketted at roof ridge.
Sash and case windows with 12-lying pane glazing
pattern.
Grey slates, straight skews, ashlar coped stacks.

Statement of Interest

Raised from single storey cottage when terrace built in

mid-late 19th century, as suggested by dressings and

reinforced by mapwork.
