Earlier 19th century. 2-storey and basement 3-bay, house. Cream rubble sandstone with stugged ashlar facade.
S ELEVATION: base course and band course above ground floor. At centre, 5 steps and platform oversailing basement area to deep-set panelled door and fanlight with Tuscan pilastered doorcase; window above; cast-iron railings to steps. Flanking windows. Door with flanking windows to basement.
E AND W ELEVATIONS: blank gable ends. Flat-roofed single storey brick porch attached to NE, with window to S.
N ELEVATION: 3-bay with stair window at centre; flanking windows, that to right at ground blind. Single storey brick porch to E.
12-pane timber sash and case windows. Ashlar coped skews; bracket skewputts; chamfered ashlar stacks with base and cornice. Grey slates.
INTERIOR: not seen 1993.
FORMER GIG HOUSE: to NW; 2-storey cream sandstone rubble former gig house, now garage, with later garage door to street. Abutted by brick shed to E. Pitched roof; grey slates.
BOUNDARY WALL: coped rubble wall to N, aligned with garage and porch; boarded door in ashlar doorcase to immediate E of porch.
The house was built to be approached from the S (Newtown Street).
