Early 19th century. Single storey 6-bay barn with attached gatepiers. Sandstone.
BARN: rubble; blank face to W (Castle Street) with single small window to left. Link wall to gatepier attached at NW corner. E elevation with 2 boarded doors (to 2nd and 4th bays from left) and boarded up windows to remaining bays.
Blank gable ends; brick apex stack to N. Grey slates; ashlar coped skews.
GATES: square ashlar gatepiers, with base course, sunken panels, cornice and ball finials. Saddleback coped link walls (largely demolished to N).
The Manse itself was demolished in 1993. This is all that remains, a poignant reminder, not only of the manse but also of the original line of Castle Street.
