Description

Fred Maxwell of Piermont and John MacCracken of Dumfries,
architects, 1800-1802. 2-storey 3-bay manse with full-width
full-height twin-gabled rear (N) wing added 1811; subsequent
lesser rear addition. Stugged red ashlar with painted margins
and rusticated quoins. Mid 19th century central corniced
square porch added to S, with side entry; plate glass sash
windows; eaves/lintel band; cornice; straight skews; end
stacks; slate roof. W flank with large plain conservatory
and 2-storey canted window.
2 corniced square gatepiers at roadside.
