Style of Walter Newall. Built 1835 as Congregational Church,
with tall narrow round-headed windows, pilastered narrow
outer pavilions; lower recessed bay left encloses stair;
2-storey 2-bay terraced house to right (NW) converted
probably 1862 to form halls and vestry. All polished red
ashlar; slated roofs. Church has 3-light inner and single
light outer windows, all multi-paned sashes, and
recessed in shallow rectangular panels; deep cill band;
arcaded corbel table carries main cornice; parapet; entrance
bay left has wide round-headed doorway, blind fanlight with
astragals cut in ashlar, round-headed bipartite over; wide
pilaster strip left with blind round-headed lights; cornice
to parapet. Church hall to right is plainer, round-headed door
left, architraved windows, cornice and parapet; end stack.
Interior: 1862; renovated and re-pewed 1880; some later
alterations; gallery at NE with panelled front. Organ by
John R Miller of Dundee, 1958.
Set behind modern iron railings.
