Description

Circa 1870. 3-storey Scottish Baronial gusset building
with east-facing crow-stepped and asymmetrically gabled
bay, shop entrance in canted NE angle with conical-roofed
bartizan over; 2 bays to English Street (one
crow-stepped), 3 plain bays to Shakespeare Street with
bipartites and dormer heads. Stugged and snecked red
ashlar with polished dressings. Principal ground-floor
openings roll-moulded and with shouldered heads,
including shop windows; door to upper floors central on
English Street elevation; corniced windows above at 1st
floor; corbel tables; strings divide floors; coped
stacks; slate roof.
