G A Cox, probably 1861 to coincide with the opening of
Cox's branch railway. Raw jute unloaded from trains at
1st floor of E elevation and taken from warehouse at ground
floor, W elevation. W elevation 2-storey 10-bay rubble with
3 ground floor iron-plated doors. All windows are blind
stone slabs. Band course over each storey. Small culvert
for Lochee burn under Warehouse No 4. E elevation: 1-storey
above railway track level, 3 iron doors between blind windows.
N gable 3 bay with blind windows and round-headed window
in tympanum of gable pierced by chute from High Mill.
Skewputts and ball finial. 1-storey 2-bay addition with door
and cornice. S gable fronts Burnside Street, high blank
ground floor and substructure with anchor plates, band course,
3 blind windows in architraves and blind round-headed window
in gable. Ball finial missing, 2 party walls with flat-topped
finials. Slate roof.
Interior: wooden floors on post and beam construction,
timber roof. Warehouse No 1 was modified to receive yarn
from the High Mill via the chute.
Camperdown Works was the only one in the city to receive
raw jute direct into its warehouses by train.
