Description

1861. Single-span skew-arched rubble-built railway
bridge. Rock faced rubble piers and voussoirs. High parapet
with cast-iron cantilevers added later for widened track.
Curved embankment approaches.
Low rubble-built wall and taller curved railway abutment
at N between bridge and warehouse No 4 contains East
Well, and small arches over Lochee Burn.

Statement of Interest

For the Camperdown Jute and Hemp Works Branch Railway,

the only Dundee textile complex to have its own railway.

It linked with the Dundee and Newtyle Railway.

Bridge also crosses the Lochee Burn which supplied the

century and Camperdown Works with steam in the 19th.
