Description

G A Cox 1862. 1 storey ashlar to N and E, 2-storey rubble
rear. E elevation 2 bay windows with single windows to either
side, 2 tripartite windows and 2 round-headed doorways
between pilasters. Cornice and parapet.
N elevation 7 bay with 3 round-headed bays for lodge door
and small bay window. 3rd arch marks original position
of gate.
Slate M roof with ashlar stacks. 2 2-storey 3-bay houses,
W c.1850, c.1860 with external stair at rear. Slate roof
and 3 stacks, 2 ashlar 1 brick. Acquired by Cox's and
2 fine ashlar gatepiers with elaborate wrought-iron lamps,
moved 80' to W in 1900s, between house and calender.

Statement of Interest

Counting House built in 1862 costing $2.084. The main

commercial offices moved to Meadowside in 1886.
