Guthrie Mausoleum: late 18th century ashlar cube with keystoned recessed arch to each face flanked by twin Ionic angle pilasters. W arch formerly open, probably with wrought-iron gate and tympanum, now blocked and cement-rendered. Cornice, blocking course and dome, stepped at base. Details somewhat eroded.
Rubble-walled enclosure with square gatepiers, modern gates.
Site of Rood Chapel, appropriated as cemetery for victims of pestilence 1561 and later for strangers and seafarers. Most monuments are circa 1820-60 and modest. The Guthries were the principle land-owners E of Dundee.
