William Robertson, Elgin, 1835-6. Austere classical 2-storey,
5 wide bay former banking house; ashlar frontage (south) and
dressings, coursed rubble 3-bay flanks. Centre door approached
by shallow flight of steps; paired pilastered and corniced
doorpiece; giant angle pilasters rising to corniced blocking
course; shallow centre pediment; moulded architraved centre
1st floor window with block pediment with anthemion detailing;
some 12-pane glazing survives. Deep eaves band; shallow
projecting piended platform slate roof. Modern shallow swept
dormer centre east and west gable; stacks removed. Small
modern porch with piended slate roof projects centre west
gable. Large modern wing to rear.
