Early 19th century. 3-storey with attic, 3-bay tenement with ground floor shops. Painted ashlar. 2nd floor cill course; eaves course; cornice; blocking course. Architraves to 1st and 2nd floor windows, corniced to 1st floor; deep apron panels to 1st floor, shallower to 2nd floor.
NE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: recessed timber door with letterbox fanlight, to No 13 to centre; flanking shopfronts; recessed aluminium glazed door to left to No 11, shop window to right; recessed central entrance to No 15 to left, glazed timber door. Regular fenestration at 1st and 2nd floors. Dormers to outer left and right at attic.
12-pane timber sash and case windows at 1st and 2nd floors, 16-pane to attic. Grey slate roof; stone skews; coped apex stacks; circular cans.
INTERIORS: not seen 1998.
At the beginning of the High Street, Nos 11-15 set the pattern for much of the street, with the facade based on the old rigg frontages, of domestic accommodation over ground floor commercial uses. Mutual cill course, eaves course, cornice and blocking course with Nos 17-21 (Odd Nos) and Nos 23 and 25 (see separate list descriptions).
