Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey with attic and basement, 7-bay pair of near rectangular-plan houses. Painted render to W elevation. Base course; eaves course; cornice; blocking course. Cills to window openings; ribbed at 1st floor.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: consoled cornices to block-pedimented paired doorpieces to 4th and 5th bays; no exterior doors; 2 single windows aligned above at 1st floor. Regular fenestration at ground and 1st floors to remaining bays (basement openings to right). 4 canted dormers at attic.

12-pane timber sash and case windows at ground and 1st floors; plate glass at attic. Grey slate roof; stone skews (cranked to S); corniced gablehead stacks.

INTERIORS: not seen 1998.

Statement of Interest

A good remaining example of earlier 19th century architecture, drawing on the classical tradition. Later additions adjoining to outer left and right.
