Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 4-bay (1-3) inn, one of terraced
pair. N elevation pebble-dashed, W elevation painted rubble. Painted margins.
N (MAIN STREET) ELEVATION: door in bay to left of centre. Regularly disposed fenestration, except blocked window in bay to right at ground floor. Wrought-iron public house sign hanging to outer left at 1st floor.
E ELEVATION: adjoined to No 38 Main Street, Rowantree (see separate listing).
W ELEVATION: door slapped to left at ground floor; timber fence flanking to right.
Plate glass glazing in sash and case windows. Red sandstone coped skews, mutual to NE. Broad painted rubble gablehead stacks, mutual to E. Small purple slates. 2 modern flat-roofed dormer windows to left and right.
No 36 Main Street is shown on the "Plan of ... the village of
Glenluce" of 1835. Formerly listed as "Crown Inn".
