Sundial formed by 4 clustered octagonal red ashlar columns set on a round cream ashlar base and wide stepped plinth, surmounted by a corniced ashlar cap.
The plinth is inscribed 'Hundreds of years a bridge I weathered sun and shade, and now a shade and sun My life is made', suggesting that the sundial was constructed from masonry formerly used in a bridge, perhaps that which preceded the later 18th century Barskimming New Bridge.
