Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay villa-like farmhouse
with single storey porch addition. Stugged grey sandstone frontage, squared and coursed, pink rubble sides and rear with stugged grey ashlar dressings. Base and cill courses to front.
N ELEVATION: consoled canopy to door at centre; plate glass fanlight. Windows flanking at ground and in each bay at 1st floor.
S ELEVATION: single storey porch projecting at centre. Window to each floor in outer bays, outer right bay recessed.
W ELEVATION: evidence of former addition at ground; window to each floor in outer bays.
E ELEVATION: largely blank, with window to each floor at outer right.
Lying-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Grey slate piend roofs. Grouped polygonal end stacks with cans retained.
The suburban villa form of the farmhouse is unusual and the retention of the lying-pane glazing, polygonal stacks and cans further contribute to its merit. The steading, which it abacks, is too altered for inclusion in the current listings.
