Description

17th century. Lectern dovecot, rectangular plan, circa 21'x27'. Rubble sandstone, formerly harled; 2 rat courses, one at eaves level. Sited

on rising ground. Doorway to S at centre; 2 semi-circular flight-holes and blank panel (formerly inscribed or a former sundial?) under

eaves. Rear wall coped in ashlar; raised crowstepped skews to side elevations. Purple slate roof with row of flight-holes at

mid-point. Square nesting boxes in interior for 1136 pigeons.
