Possibly Robert Burn, circa 1800. Square castellated
dovecot. Harled. Sited across Birn Water from Saltoun hall, in woodland. Round-arched panels on each elevation with impost bands, blind quatrefoil, embossed and diapered panels and crenellated
parapet; doorway in one elevation approached by stone steps. Octagonal lantern above with flight holes, crenellated and with arrow-slit windows on each face, alternatively glazed and blinded
.Circular interior lined with nesting boxes.
North Lodge (listed separately in Saltoun Parish) is in similar castellated style, indicating that the same architect was responsible for both structures simultaneously. Robert Burn is suggested because of his additions to Saltoun Hall in 1803.
