Circa 1800, pair of square castellated twin gate lodges, cleverly joined and drive bridged over, circa 1938. Harled; base and impost courses
and crenellated parapets.
ORIGINAL LODGES: single storey with E and W elevations identical, each comprised of recessed round arched panels with round arched windows and long blind arrow slits flanking; blind quatrefoils above. Doorways on drive sides. Flat-roofed dormers added to outer pitches circa 1935.
BRIDGES: crenellated bay rising above flanking lodges, with segmental pend below; timber mullioned bipartite window to N and S sided. Small-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows grey slates to piend roofs, harled slender stacks. Simple 2-leaf wrought-iron gates.
Saltoun Hall dovecot (listed separately in Pencaitland Parish) was built in a similar style, and probably at a contemporary date. The home farm is embellished with a solitary blind quatrefoil and similarly harled.
