Earlier 19th century. Single storey, irergular-plan picturesque lodge. Pink and grey rubble sandstone, stugged quoins, droved and margined angles, slate roof. Base course; windows have chamfered margins, some with slab canopies, unsympathetic uPVC glazing; deep eaves, Vitruvian scroll bargeboards; single and paired diamond stacks.
N ELEVATION: panelled door and astragalled fanlight with canopy porch advanced from eaves at centre re-entrant, window at left, gable advanced at right with canted window.
W ELEVATION: gable advanced at off-centre left with 2 windows; blinded window at recessed bay at right.
S ELEVATION: paired gables, modern French doors and conservatory at left, door and window blocked from door at right.
E ELEVATION: window at bay at left and advanced gable at right.
GATEPIERS AND ADJOINING WALLL: 2 pyramidal-capped, corniced ashlar gatepiers; 1 flat-capped stugged ahslar gatepier and adjoining rubble wall.
The lodge was probably built following the erection of the stable court at the east side of Baldovan House in 1832 by David Mackenzie. The slab canopies and diagnonal stacks however suggest the style of William Burn. interior not inspected.
