Late 19th century with earlier work at rear. Scottish style. 3 storeys and attic. Thinly rendered; slate roof with Flemish-gabled dormers. 2 gabled projections on front, one with bay window; porch in between, 1 gable at rear. Ashlar Chimneys. Narrow windows in groups. 2 storey buildings adjoining at rear, of earliest date: rubble, piended slate roofs. Modern 1 storey, flat-roofed extension to N. fire escape to rear. Rear windows of main block altered.
Rear portions are probably the remains of the old coaching inn which stood on this site.
