Description

Large U-plan ruin. 3-storey 17th cent. with swept dormers
on E. side, openings roll-moulded: unvaulted. 1740: west
facade richly remodelled in stucco, openings given egg
and dart architraves and tripartite keystones, arched panel
at centre 1st with alto-relieve figure of Time in flight
(damaged) centre brick chimney above: doorways left and
right, small window at centre ground: long 2-storey
3-window advance wings added forming approximately
symmetrical western forecourt. Remains of fine panelled
rooms within. Court at back (roofed later) dated at lintel
1S HB 17 40 N. garden wall and gatepiers.
