Mid 18th century. 2-storey 3-bay house with additional pend bay and modern pentice roofed and porch additions at rear, sited on corner. Harled.
S elevation to Main Street irregular, comprised of 3 2-storey bays and pend bay to outer right with window above. Doorway off-centre to right, flanked to either side by modern shop windows and with segmental pend in outer right bay; 3 1st floor windows of regular size, square window above pend. W elevation with large shop window inserted; 1st floor and attic windows.
4-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows. Later stacks. Red pantiles; modern skylight.
Listed despite considerable alterations for its contribution to Main Street, at head of The Wynd. Apparently the psot-office has a feu-charter of the 1840s, though later alterations have obscured the evidence for such an ealry date. Ashlar coped high rubble wall at rear.
