Description

Built circa 1843. 2-storey former manse. Doubel-pile, front
(west) part piended, rear part narrower, and gabled. Painted
rubble with red ashlar dressings. West elevation: 3 unequal
bays; off-centre 2-leaf panelled door with large rectangular,
geometric patterned fanlight in architrave, with consoled
cornice: canted ground floor window to right. 1st floor cill
band: sash windows, 4-pane at 1st floor. Bracketted eaves. 2
stacks with grouped diamond flues rise above roof valley:
roofed with graded slates. 2 square, painted ashlar and
panelled gatepiers with projecting caps.

Statement of Interest

The congregation had as its first minister Henry Duncan,

founder of the first savings bank.
