Description

Thomas Rickman of Birmingham, architect. Built 1825. Tudor,
essentially H-plan country house. 2/3-storeys; red ashlar;
windows mostly mullioned, and with lying-pane glazing. Low
wing (now garage) to west. North elevation: advanced and
gabled 3-storey inner entrance bay has porch with round-
headed door and shaped parapet; mullioned and transomed
window to right; left gable blank with projecting chimney
breast. 3-bay east elevation; south elevation with canted
window in right gable, door at left. 2 projecting chimney
breasts to north, one corbelled but now cut down. String
between floors. Shaped skews; end and axial stacks, with
square or diamond flues; roofed with graded slates.

NMRS index mentions alterations 1889 by Peddie & Kinnear:

these were presumably minor, or interior work, or possibly

not executed.
