Abbey Burn E of Dundrennan village on the road to Old
Kirkyard of Rerrick. 16ft 6in span.
The bridge is probably of medieval origin and is throught to
have been primarily for the use of the Dundrennan Abbey
community. Originally 9ft in width it has been widened in
the 19th-century to a total of 15ft 6in. The earlier S
portion has an outer arch ring of finely dressed voussoirs
and single stone rib all with chamfered angles; granite
springers, dressed rubble soffit and abutments.
The later N side has dressed voussoirs and rough rubble
soffit. Both parapets have been rebuilt and heavily
repointed.
